The Field trip / Internship report e-tivity is based on experiential learning in concrete environment or organizational settings. In case of a field trip the students are asked to visit a location that is related to a course topic (geographical location, museum, zoo or botanic garden, laboratory, production plant, etc.). In case of internship they have to volunteer for several days in an organization, observe its environment, and create a report on specific topics, perhaps even on the tasks that they were given according to their competence. In this e-tivity the students have to create a diary of their observations and activities during the field trip or internship. The most important is the quality of their observations and comments that are related to a subject of a course or a lecture. As documentation of their activities and experiences they can write a diary in form of blog posts, take photographs and/or make video recordings. They can also make online presentations for other students. This e-tivity facilitates critical thinking and peer learning. It is based on constructivist principles of teaching and learning.

To create a diary of their activities during the field trip or internship the students can use blogs or online notes taking tools. They can also use tools for online photos sharing (Flickr), video sharing (YouTube) and video tagging tools (Veotag), as well as online cartoon strip making tools (Bubblr). Online presentation tools (SlideSix) and video tagging tools (Veotag) can also be used.
