Chronicles or Timeline

The Chronicles or Timeline e-tivity is based on creating a detailed list of events related to a course topic that are arranged in chronological order and sometimes visualized in form of a line with dates and events labelled to them. The events can be selected regarding their importance for the lecture/course or they can represent an unselected documentation of what has been happening during a limited historic period, work on a scientific discovery, development of a commercial product or service (television, electrical car, etc.), lifetime of a famous person (writor, composer, inventor), or alike. The events can be visualized in form of a timeline or a mind map if they can be clustered into sub-periods or "eras".

This learning activity can be performed with Web 2.0 tools for creating a timeline (xtimeline, dipity), or with a wiki, blog, e-portfolio, or other collaborative writing or notes sharing tools.
