The e-tivity Funny Nobel prize / Better without it is meant to attract attention and interest, as well as create an atmosphere of openness and humour. It is similar to creating the lists "Funniest inventions ever", "Most unwanted historic leaders", "Worst examples of architeture", etc. This idea has an analogy in the Ig® Nobel Prize which is awarded each year by the Improbable Research organization for the invention or scientific research that is funny, unusual, and sometimes useless. This e-tivity can be performed in a way that the instructor presents a case of funniest/worst subject, and then the students make comments, critical remarks, discuss the pros and cons for such qualification, or try to find analogue items. The other way to perform this e-tivity is to ask of the students to search for items for the funny/unusual lists like "funniest inventions", "least supported scientific findings", "best selling but most ecologically dangerous products", "the historic events which the civilization would be better without", "most ineffective or harmful laws", etc. After nominating an item for such lists, the students could provide proper argumentation and proof.

The Web 2.0 tools that can be used for this e-tivity are wiki, blog, online comic strip creation (Bubblr), online presentations (SlideSix), online debating tools, and video sharing tools (YouTube).
