Tihomir Orehovački will be resenting a paper entitled Exploring the Quality in Use of Web 2.0 Applications: The Case of Mind Mapping Services at the 2nd International Workshop on Quality in Web Engineering (Paphos, Cyprus, 20-24 June 2011). The authors are Tihomir Orehovački, Andrina Granić and Dragutin Kermek (link to workshop paper).

The EduWeb2.0 project was shortlisted for the Dørup E-learning Award and will be presented at the EUNIS International Congress (Dublin, Ireland, 15-17 June 2011). The project will be presented by Ana Ćorić and Tihomir Orehovački and their paper is entitled "Strategies for implementation of Web 2.0 tools in academic education " (link to conference program). The authors of the paper are Goran Bubaš, Ana Ćorić and Tihomir Orehovački (link to extended abstract).

Tihomir Orehovački presented a paper entitled The integration of students' artifacts created with Web 2.0 tools into Moodle, blog, wiki, e-portfolio and Ning (link to PPT presentation) at the "Computers in Education" section of the MIPRO 2011 - 34th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (Opatija, Croatia, 23-27 May 2011). The authors of the paper are Goran Bubas, Ana Coric and Tihomir Orehovacki.

The iProject team has organized a workshop entitled "Potential uses of Web 2.0 tools in education of school children" for 55 teachers of informatics in the Varaždin and Međimurje municipalities, Croatia. The workshop took place at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin.

On 28th May 2010 the iProject team organized a workshop entitled "The use of Web 2.0 tools in e-learning" (in Croatian language) in cooperation with the IT Academy of the University of Rijeka at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka. The worksop was organized in coordination with the section Computers in Education of the 33rd International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics – MIPRO 2010.

Ana Ćorić and Goran Bubaš presented a paper entitled "The evaluation of the use of online community tool Ning for support of student interaction and learning" at the Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems, CECIIS 2010, 22–24 September 2010, Varaždin, Croatia. The third author of the paper is Tihomir Orehovački.

Andreja Kovačić presented a paper entitled "Pathways to collaborative learning. Using Web 2.0 in teaching grammar" at the "E-learning day"/"eLearning Tag 2010" (program PDF) event that is organized at the FH JOANNEUM in Graz, Austria.

Andreja Kovačić presented a paper at the conference on the use of computer technology for teaching foreign languages EUROCALL 2010, Bordeaux, France, 8-11 September 2010. The paper is entitled "Mobilizing students’ grammar skills through collaborative e-tivities with Web 2.0 tools" [ PDF] and the co-authors of the paper are Goran Bubaš and Ana Ćorić.

Tihomir Orehovački presented a paper at the 19th International Conference on Information Systems Development, Prague, Czech Republic, August 25-27, 2010. The paper is entitled "Perceived Quality of Cloud Based Applications for Collaborative Writing" and deals with the methodologies for evaluation of collaborative editors based on technologies like Web 2.0 and cloud computing.

Some of the results of the iProject EduWeb2.0 were presented at the 16th Congress of the European University Information Systems Organisation - EUNIS 2010 (Warsaw, Poland, 23-25 June 2010). The project was presented with a paper entitled "Evaluation of Web 2.0 Tools in the e-Learning Context: Case Studies Related to Pedagogy and Usability" ((PDF).

Lectures for academic teachers at the University of Zagreb

Several lectures were presented to students and teachers of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, University of Zagreb, Croatia, in collaboration with the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The presenters are the researchers from the Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks: Tomaž Klobučar, Tanja Arh, Matic Pipan, and Andrej Jerman Blažič. The topics of the lectures are "Preservation of integrity of digital content in e-learning", "Educenter - portal for education", "Eye tracking device and its use in course design, web design etc.", and "The use of Web 2.0 tools in education" (link to announcement).
