The Novelty e-activity aims at attracting attention and is performed by presentation of new or unexpected information, as well as of something different or unique. Themes can be introduced in a lecture that contrast or contradict some common experience or knowledge. The students can also be surprised by an introduction of a new form of activity for learning. Evidence and visualization can be provided during the novelty e-activity. Also, it is important that the information has credibility. Students may be asked to comment on the new information, collect additional evidence, provide theoretical support, etc.

The Web 2.0 tools that can be used for this activity include blogs, video sharing (YouTube), online photos (Flickr) and comic strip creation (Bubblr), online presentations / video podcasting, and online surveys for feedback and comments.
