In the Introspection e-tivity students reflect on their thoughts or emotional reactions related to a specific topic (political campaign, environmental issue, actual or former relationship, etc.). This is best performed anonymously and the students have to be reminded of potential consequences regarding privacy and inappropriate self-disclosure. Other students perform a literature search and try to provide theoretical background or model that is associated with the data in the results of introspection. Instead of genuine introspection students can simulate introspection of a fictional character or play a specific role. Also, group discussion about the content of introspection can be used instead of literature search or finding appropriate theoretical background.

The results of introspection can be presented as blog posts or in form of YouTube video and commented by other students. An open source blog tool can be used (e.g. WordPress) or a blogging site like Blogger. Microblogging is also possible with Twitter.
