The Guided reading e-tivity is a form of research of online and offline resources in which the students are instructed how to investigate literature on a certain topic. For instance, the students can use the 5W system for reporting on an event or phenomenon. They can conclude their activity with a report writing, group discussion, etc.

This e-tivity can be supported with the use of Web 2.0 tools for social bookmarking (Delicious, Diigo), tools for collaborative writing (Google Docs, Zoho Writer), or tools for notes sharing (GradeGuru). With the use of social bookmarking tools the instructor or the students can create collections of links to online resources on a specific topic and with the use of collaborative writing / notes sharing tools they can create, present and share with other students the results of the their literature research.
