The Situation background e-tivity is related to cognitivistic and constructivistic approaches to learning. This e-tivity is based on the investigation of causes or theoretical explanations of a certain phenomenon or situation. How a specific animal species has evolved? What is the background of the political system in one country of the world? What are the causes of a historic event? The students can use collaborative writing tools (wiki, notes-taking), blog posts, mind-maps like Mindomo (for background information) or block-diagrams like Draw Anywhere(for cause-effect relations and process flow), as well as video-sharing (YouTube) or online presentation tools (SlideSix). The so-called timeline tools like Dipity which depict historic landmarks can also be used for this purpose. |
