Formation of novel concepts can be supported with a congitive e-tivity Analogies old-new. The use of this e-tivity can also be suitable for illustrating newly acquired knowledge and connecting it with prior experiences of students. This simple pedagogical activity requires of students to provide examples for new learning content by looking at how things have been done in the past (earlier technologies, discoveries, theories, etc.). Students can tell stories or anecdotes, provide comparable cases from their experience or literature that they have read and try to connect it to new learning content. For this e-tivity photo and video sharing tools like Flickr and YouTube can be used and, in case of text writing activities, wiki or blog technology is also suitable. |
