Main purpose
Google talk is Instant Messenger(IM) simmilar to MSN, Skype, ICQ and others. It offers support for video chat and enables users to chat from their desktops as well as to send/receive files.
Useful information
Google Talk uses Gmail account and is directly connected with user's Gmail. Therefore users can manage their Gmail mailbox through Gtalk desktop application without opening their browsers. Google provided html script and enabled web developers to embed Gtalk in Web pages.
