The predominantly cognitive e-tivity Overview of already known is designed to refresh the memory of students regarding their earlier learning activities or personal experience from a specific field. In this e-tivity students perform various tasks that require use of knowledge that they acquired before a specific lesson. This activity can help them understand new concepts and processes that are not too different from what they already know. It can make them more aware of their tacit knowledge. Also, it may help them (re)organize prior knowledge/experience and better connect it to new learning content (theory, practical use, historical/social background, etc.). Collaborative writing (e.g. Google Docs - documents) can be used for this e-tivity, as well as wiki or notes-taking tools (Springnote). Graphic organizers like mind-mapping (Project Draw) or block diagrams (Mindmeister) could also serve this purpose. |
