By presenting an anecdote from the life or work of a scientist, expert, inventor, or businessman, the students can empathize with this person and his/her situation, take into account their perspective, give more attention to the context/situation in which they operated, etc. This e-tivity can illustrate a topic of a lecture and provide incentive for critical thinking or further exploration of a specific subject (invention, theory, historical event, etc.) The potentially useful Web 2.0 tools for this e-tivity are blogs, video sharing (YouTube), voice recording/publishing or audio podcasting, online comic strip creation (Bubblr), online presentations / video tagging, online debating tools, etc. |
